The present investigation explores the hepatoprotective activity of Ficus bengalensis leaf extract in albino rats. The dried leaves of Ficus bengalensis were extracted using ethanol and tested for hepatoprotective activity on albino rats intoxicated with rifampicin (50mg/kg p.o). liver weight, pentobarbitone sleeping time, biochemical parameters was studied. Ethanolic extract of Ficus bengalensis leaf lowered the elevated levels of SGOT, SGPT and serum bilirubin indicating promising anti hepatotoxic activity.
