To maintain quality and to publish accurate scientific manuscripts it is very necessary to pass the manuscripts with a rigorous peer review process. Peer review is done to make sure the manuscripts are of high quality. Although peer review takes a lot of time yet it is very essential to ensure the quality of scientific research and articles published in the journal. Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacodynamics (RJPPD) appreciates the work of reviewers as they put their time and efforts to bring good articles in the scientific field.
Reviewers have the responsibility to assess the articles on several factors like value addition in the scientific field, manipulation of data, relevant information etc. In RJPPD reviewers are motivated and given guidance to deliver honest and constructive feedback of the manuscripts. In the peer review system reviewer are asked to give feedback in such a way so that author can bring good work in the field of science.

They are collaborated from different sources like member of editorial board, their contacts, scientific work available in public domains, personal contacts, bibliographic databases, potential reviewers as suggested by the authors etc. It is to be noted that acceptance and rejection of any article is done majorly on the basis of reviewer’s comments and guidance.
Guidelines for Reviewers to Accept and Reject Manuscripts
- Reviewers must ensure that they assess the manuscript without any personal aggression with the authors.
- Reviewers must always criticize in a constructive manner and in a way that the author does not get demotivated.
- Reviewers must do unbiased review.
- Reviewers must always hide their identity and they should not provide any hint which can reveal their identity.
- Reviewers must not get involved in a peer review board if they have any personal conflict of interests with the author or with the manuscript’s subject.
- Reviewers must not disclose the key points of manuscript and must maintain secrecy.
- Reviewers are given the choice of commenting or writing to the editor. Additionally, reviewers need to fill a form during peer review of the manuscript.
Questions for Reviewers to Consider
- Is the topic of the manuscript significant and relevant to the journal?
- Does the manuscript adhere to the author's instructions?
- Do the title, abstract, keywords, introduction, and conclusions accurately reflect the core issues of the manuscript?
- Is the manuscript well-written and free from grammatical errors?
- Is the aim of the manuscript appropriate for the subject, and are the methodologies followed correctly?
- Has the author obtained all necessary ethical approvals and consents from patients or their relatives, where applicable?
- Are the results statistically analyzed, and are the conclusions aligned with statistical principles and interpretation?
- Is there any evidence of data manipulation or bias in drawing conclusions?
- Are all tables and figures clearly labeled, self-descriptive, and understandable?
- Are the conclusions supported by facts and relevant data?
- Are the references cited appropriate to support the manuscript, and are they cited according to the journal’s reference style? Is any landmark work or citation missing?
